Name: Distress Beacon Requirements: 1,500 WC Minimum Rewards: 500z | 100 XP | 200 SP | 1 TP Description: While travelling among the stars your computer picks up an active distress beacon located near your position. As you arrive on scene you find out a spacecraft that is full of passengers are stranded due to a massive engine failure. Will you help them out or will you "Help them out"?
"Captain Ginyu" the AI said in it's usual flat, monotone, robotic voice. The AI suddenly speaking out of nowhere caused Captain Ginyu to snap out of the zone he was in that he tended to get into whenever he was training. He wasn't expecting the artificial crew member to speak to him when he was training, as he left very specific orders to only interrupt him when the artificial crew believed they discovered something that was of interest, or when they finally reached the Planet Pythios. The eccentric body snatcher was starting to get really annoyed by all the interruptions and the stops, he so desperately wanted to get this mission done already. It was really dragging on and keeping him away his right-hand man Jeice.
He really didn't want to acknowledge the AI, as he felt he had better things to do than listen to it. At the same time though, the eccentric body snatcher knew that he should at least hear what it had to say, as it was supposed to let him know when they reached Planet Pythios. All the false alarms, detours, and unplanned side missions were starting to wear him in ways he had trouble putting into words, they were just so disheartening. So while he desperately wanted to tell the AI to get lost, he knew he had to hear it out in the event something truly important came up. Captain Ginyu let out a nearly inaudible sigh of resignation, and spoke up.
"What do you want, AI? I'm in the middle of a very important training session, and I don't wish to be interrupted unless it's something really important" the eccentric body snatcher said in an exasperated tone of voice. Like always, the AI completely ignored the irritation and such the elite soldier nearly always spoke to him. It didn't seem capable of picking up or recognize when a person was really annoyed, which was yet one more flaw for him to jot down and put in the reports he would be sending to the scientists on Frieza I once he returned with the Emperors Consort, Lady Levi. Oh well, he would deal with this as well as he always could, considering the circumstances and all.
"There is an active distress beacon near our current position. They are requesting for help because they are stranded, and I assumed that you wanted to know" the AI said to him in response. What the electronic crew mate said caused the ridge of Captain Ginyu's brow to raise up in surprise, honestly not expecting there to be anyone besides himself this deep into the North Galaxy. He eventually shrugged off the surprise he felt over people being this far in the North Galaxy, as he figured their being lost was the reason for why they were stranded. Stupid, incompetent space adventurers, clearly they lacked the kind of technological know how of the PTO.
Part of him did want to leave the people stranded right where they were and continue going about his usual routines while on the ship he was traveling. After all they were likely just a bunch of nobodies with no affiliation to the PTO whatsoever. It was none of his business if they were lost, but at the same time part of his desire to help those in need, so long as they didn't oppose the PTO, screamed out at him to help the people. Sure he wasn't necessarily heroic, since he served a bloodthirsty tyrant and all, but he still held himself to some kind of standards. He would be disgusted with himself if he chose to leave these people to their fates.
Resigning himself and cursing his inner heroic self for drawing him away from his main mission, he eventually figured that it would be a simple matter to help these stranded idiots out and get them to where they needed to go. Even if it did turn out to take him a while, he was still very confident that he could get things and be back on track to assisting Lady Levi. The mission was too important for him to fail, but the detours and everything else that delayed him arriving at his destination didn't take too much time. He easily and quickly bounced back from all the lost time thanks to the top-quality engines and the top-quality fuel h had for his ship. Captain Ginyu was confident he would still make it to save Lady Levi in time, he would just have to make sure anything these people needed help with would be easy to fix.
"Set a course for the stranded ship, and dock with them once we get there. I'd like to get this whole thing finished up as quickly as possible. I don't want this detour to take us too long, after all" the eccentric body snatcher said, causing the AI to let out a verbal confirmation to acknowledge the orders it was given. Captain Ginyu then sighed as he reclined in the main chair in the control room so he could relax and take a break from all the training he was doing. This entire thing was really starting to wear him out, but he was truly a soldier more dedicated than any other in existence, and would make sure he did the best job he could in every situation imaginable.
The trip to the stranded ship didn't take a long amount of time to get there, if anything it appeared as if it didn't take more than a couple minutes to reach the stranded ship. Once they came within docking distance to the stranded ship, Captain Ginyu ordered the AI to open the commlinks so he could let them know that help was on the way. When the AI let him know a connection had been established, he spoke up to inform the civilians that their request for assistance had been received.
"Dear civilians, I am Captain Ginyu, and I've come to help you with your little stranded problem. Prepare for docking at once" the elite PTO soldier said to the people on the ship, hoping they would accept his help.
Although if they chose to not accept his help, he would just shrug his shoulders and continue on with his day while potentially leaving these people to die. It wasn't like the lives of these people mattered to him, they were nothing to him since they weren't PTO. He was only doing this to distract himself from how long and boring this entire trip was, he would happily leave them to die if they rejected his offer. If they did accept his help though, well they would be in for a nice little surprise. It didn't take long them for them to send a message back, because the message came rather quickly.
"Oh thank the heavens, we happily accept your help, Captain! We were knocked off course by a sudden supernova, and our engines and navicomputer are both totally fried! We need all the help we can get!" came the voice of what sounded like an adult male. To hear that their engines and navicomputer weren't working sounded hilarious to him, because he could help them all out in a way they would like at first, but oh boy were they in for a nice surprise once he was done. Grinning evilly to himself, he cracked his knuckles and went over to the loading ramp that was docked with their ship.
He gathered up the old engines for his ship and some lower quality fuel, as well as parts to repair a navicomputer, and happily boarded the ship to see a small number of civilians. They were clearly a traveling family of traders, at least judging by the cargo they were hauling with them on the ship. He saw their happy faces and snickered in his head about what he was going to pull on them. No one in the family of traders seemed to know who he was, which meant they would be in for a nasty surprise when he finished helping them. If they could read minds, they would know to not trust him, but alas they were completely oblivious to his true intentions.
"Show me to the ship engines so I can repair them and the navicomptuer. I'll have you all back on track in no time at all!" he said in his boisterous and charismatic tone of voice. He made sure they knew he was someone that was eager to rescue them from their plight, even though the help was coming from someone of a mildly nefarious nature. Oh yes, these fools were going to experience the generosity of the PTO to it's fullest, whether they liked it or not. They all nodded their heads and lead him straight to the engine room, pointing out both the engines and navigation computer they had with them. He bowed his head to them in acknowledgement, and quickly began working on the things they needed help with.
The amount of time it took him to get everything back up and running passed seemingly within the blink of an eye. They all trusted him to get the job done, so none of them stuck around to watch them work. They were all idiots for putting so much trust in a stranger, even if said stronger was someone as noble and illustrious as Captain Ginyu himself. The family were going to be sent back on track, but it wouldn't be to the place they were going to. Oh no, he was going to send them to a place that would seize them and their goods to put them all to good use for the PTO.
Reactivating the engines and stealthily redirecting the engines to Planet Frieza #326, which was a slave labor camp that mass produced various goods and such under harsh guards that were willing to viciously beat down the prisoners for so much as giving them a dirty look. Heck they sometimes beat the prisoners if the guards suspected they were thinking bad things about them. It could easily be argued that his doing this was considered both immoral and wrong, but he honestly didn't care about that. He was just so tired of all these interruptions, and wanted to spite these fools. Sure they got into this trouble entirely by accident, or at least it seemed that way, but he wanted to be done with his adventures in space already.
Seeing the last set of coordinates put into the navicomputer, he modified the visuals to give the impression their ship was continuing to it's destination, but in reality it was actually sending them to the slave labor camp where they would be captured and put to work under the harshest of working conditions. No need to let them know about what he's done, hopefully it would be too late for them to do anything by the time they figured out what he did. Clapping his hands together as if he was trying to remove from them, he entered the living quarters of the trader family to give them the good news. Well it would seem like good news to them, he would be long gone by the time they discovered he hoodwinked. At least he hoped to be long gone by the time they learned about what he did.
"I have successfully fixed your engine and navicomputer problems! You're all free to fire the engines and continue on your way at any time! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to leave and continue on to the destination I wanted to reach! Good day to you all, try to stay out of anymore trouble!" he said to them in his boisterous tone of voice as he saluted them all. The family were receptive to good his seemingly good nature, and all crowded around him to thank him for the help he gave them.
Quickly making his way back to his own ship, he ordered the AI controlling the ship to detach from the family's trading ship and continue heading to Planet Pythios. Once the ships were separated by a solar system, Captain Ginyu sent an alert to Planet Frieza #326 about the potential new laborers they might be getting, and said to 'accommodate them to the best of the hospitality you're all known for'. He then closed the commlinks and chuckled to himself as his ship continued flying through space at incredible speeds.
