Personality:
Elery prior to the Saiyan revolution was more or less your typical commoner Saiyan, arrogant prideful and always up to having a good scrap. Nothing special to talk about there save for her loyalty towards King Vegeta. Having quite the belief in the leadership of their king and the rightful structure of the Saiyan race. Every once in a while through the drunken stupor this saiyan shows back up again and shows the same vitality for combat, although her anger is slightly directed towards those responsible for what she calls her greatest failure
Regardless of how strong she becomes or what advantages she has, she always assumes she’s going to lose the next fight. That this time she’s finally going to die and she can finally answer for her weakness in the next life. In that regard she has made peace with her fate and will throw herself into any fight if there’s even the remotest of reasons for it, or even if she’s just been ordered to do so. Even in her element mid combat, there’s no joy to this Saiyan, she’s just going through the motions, even when it comes down to in battle banter. There’s no satisfaction in a hard won victory and practically no gating after defeating a weaker foe.
Through the heavy drinking a couple of different sides emerge, depending on her starting mood a drunk Elery is either everyone’s best friend, no really I love you guys. Or a violent rage that destroys their own possessions in a fit of self loathing. Or just someone who has lost their will to continue, waxes philosophical about their purpose in life and is a bit of a downer to be around. Sometimes flickering between these states as the drinking night continues.
History:
Elery started as any Saiyan, being shipped off in a pod and sent off to conquer a world in the name of the glorious Saiyan race and slaughtering her foes to her great and almost childlike glee. Having joined in a small squad in her early teens after being recovered from the world she was dropped on she was allowed to find out quite why she had been driven into a killing frenzy and left behind to slaughter and wipe clean planets. It was all for her glorious race and for their King, Vegeta.
Her time on Planet Vegeta was short lived, she was eager for more, always wanting to move forwards and get to the next encounter. The next bit of fun, the next race, the next conquest. It was a thrill to her and consumed her early life. She was by no means the strongest of her kind but she’d never let it bother her. She was always proud of what she had achieved because it had a purpose behind it. It was also well rewarded, accolades from her fellow kind and indeed recognition for her violent tendencies gave her confirmation that she was doing the right thing.
Upon her return from a particularly difficult job. One in which she mostly crawled back to Vegeta a bloody wreck. She got to hear the rather horrific news, there had been a regime change while she had been at work. A rather quickly amassed force had stormed Planet Vegeta and had done the unthinkable, they had killed the King and replaced him with a Queen. The news broke Elery, those few she’d made friends with and the squad she tended to buddy up with on particularly difficult Planetary conquests saw the change and mostly dismissed her as weak.
She stopped fighting, stopped going on missions unless told to go and spent almost all of her time just stuck in one bar or another trying to drink herself to death in some way or another. She struggled to cope with the concept that there had been people that hated the King so much after everything he had given them that they felt the need to remove him and execute him in the process. Finally ousted from the bars for a time she went travelling, just hopping from planet to planet to see if she could find a new purpose. Sure she could still go out and fight for the glory of the Saiyan race, but what glory would there be with a bunch of traitorous monkeys that overthrew their own leader like that.
She barely registered the worlds she was on, the time passing without much incident. Taking odd jobs and working under whoever needed the services of a reasonably powerful individual. The jobs didn’t matter, the people didn’t matter. Eventually she found herself back where it all started, stuck on Planet Vegeta, wondering just what the hell to do next and having little purpose, save for vague thoughts of revenge as she saw the general populous just getting on with their lives like nothing had happened. How dare they, to act like everything was normal when it was all ruined. What a waste of good Saiyan, when brother fought brother how could anything be considered right.
