Personality:
During his time growing and training within the village he has become well known for his determination. Whatever the task may be that he takes up, he does not end his efforts until he sees the task as being completed to it's fullest. Generally kind to the people around him, though not always friendly on first meeting, seeming more indifferent if there was nothing of interest to initiate a meeting with a stranger. To those he calls friends he does tend to be more open with them, offering more warmth than indifference, but he's often focused on bettering himself, or the things around him. His village for example, when not busy on missions, he would often take time to help the people. More than once he's assisted the elderly, or in building a home for the slowly growing population there.
History: Born and raised upon a mountain, in a village named Yama. He is only aware of his fathers history, having never met the man himself. But his mother often told him that his father was a man of nature, and that the mountain and forest suited him. The greatest mark of his father left upon the village is a garden at it's center that grows the most beautiful flowers, and the pollen that comes from them produces an especially delicious honey that the village will collect for personal use, as well as take to the city in order to sell it for an, understandably high, fee. As the honey is sold and collected only once a year within the summer to keep demand high for those who can appreciate just how special the commodity truly is.
Growing up, he joined the more martial based defense of his community, simply put, a ninja squad. From the age of six on he's been learning to use the skills of his clan. But it was apparent from even that age he was something special. His ability to manipulate energy was great, and powerful. Learning what many of his clan did much more quickly than was expected of someone so young. While powerful compared to most his fellow ninja, there are a few stronger than him still. The leading elder of the village being one of those, as well as the left, and right hands that serve the elder. Making Midori himself the fourth strongest in the village at the time of his 21st birthday. Having grown into a man of great skill and respect in his village, and most notably having a skill with lush life that his father once had, if not so great as his fathers yet.

"Master, how do you feel today?" Midori asked as he stepped into the elder Shingen's room, and kneeling before the man where he stood. Midori wearing a simple outfit this morning, a black sleeveless robe, over white cotton pants, and white tabi. His sandals having been left at the door when he entered.
"Oh? Nice of you to check on me, Midori. You may stand." He said waving a hand up for Midori to rise. The man looked good for his age, or at least well built. Even under the black robes he wore one could see just how large the man was, standing half a foot taller, and certainly more broad. Short cropped grey hair, and soft blue eyes, looked back into Midori's green, matching the short chopped hair on the young mans head. "I am well enough, Midori. Age is catching up with me, however." The man sighed bringing a hand up to his face, tracing the wrinkled on his face, they only seemed to grow more apparent under his touch as he frowned. "Is your training going well, Midori?" He asked back in reply.
Midori nodded slowly in reply to the mans question while standing up, though a soft frown crossed his lips.
"Hmm, well you don't seem terribly satisfied with it then. Or so your expression tells me. Is something wrong?" He asked, just slightly concerned for the young man before him. Midori was rarely quick to express himself, and so Shingen figured he's need to push him to speak on the subject. It was not unusual for that to be the case.
Midori thought for a moment, letting the silence of his thoughts linger as he studied the floor at his feet during that time. "I... Am not satisfied with my training lately. I feel my progress has become slow, perhaps even stagnant. I train with Ren, and Toya almost daily. They are very skilled after all... But you've seen that, even stopping by to watch occasionally." He noted with a gesture to the elder. "But I am starting to think that I have reached my peak. I worry that I cannot grow stronger."
"Indeed, I have stopped by to watch your spars many times. I will admit that your skills have reached heights close to their's, and only a few steps below my own." He said with a shake of his head. "It's rather disheartening for my own efforts to be nearly matched by yours in so short a time... Even so, hearing that you do not feel that you are growing as you like is troubling." He said rubbing a chin covered in short grey stubble. "I feel your power has plenty of room to grow. But perhaps your skills are what is truly at their limit. You can perform any technique we have taught you as well as can be expected. There is nothing left for you to master in that area..." He spoke thoughtfully, eyes raised. "Then perhaps it's time to let you from the cage for a time... You should spread your wings and fly where the running wheel no longer suffices." He said lowering his hands behind his back.
"You, think I should leave?" He asked surprised by that reply, looking slightly uncomfortable with the thought, which meant he was very uncomfortable with it. "I've been from the village many times. But I've rarely left for more than a few hours in most cases." The village was on it's own, but an hours run could bring them to the city on a clear day. It was not hard to go there and back.
"I do believe you should go, yes. You must find your own tests I think. There are not many ways that me, or my hands could test you now. That is, we could not, without risking your life and our own in the process. If you wish to grow stronger, then you must put your life on the line. It's time." He said with a reluctant sigh. "So this is my will. Leave for a year, and return stronger in that time. You will be given three days to decide on what you will take with you. When you are finished, see me so that I and my hands may see you off for what could be the last time. If you do not return stronger within a year, I will assume you have failed, and do not wish us to see your shame." He was not being hard with his last statement. He simply knew that Midori could use the push.
Midori understood, taking the words with comfort. "Thank you, master. I shall prepare immediately then. It will not take me three days to decide what I need though. I don't believe it will take me more than one. If I am to grow stronger, then I would best serve myself by wasting as little time as possible in that pursuit." He noted, bowing before turning away to head for the door.
"And Midori-" Shingen said to the young mans back. "Gain power for a purpose. Power for the sake of power, brings chaos." And with those last words, Midori gave a nod before leaving the house. Feeling both a sense of excitement, and sadness. To see the world, but also for leaving his village. But it was only a year after all. He promised himself he would succeed for the sake of his village, and for his wise master. He would grow stronger for them, as well as the satisfaction of improving himself.
