Personality: Bright and energetic, but also not without a hot-blooded disposition, Mizuna is fiercely loyal to those she considers friends and just as intense with her bouts of rage when those friends are harmed. It has been noted by old friends that Mizuna is perhaps a bit easy to trust people she meets for the first time and that being of abundant energy, Mizuna has a particular love for the physical side of things.
If it involves moving her body around, then she'll throw herself head long into the activity. In particular, is her affinity for swordsmanship and martial arts in general. Her sense of ethics stems from her background with martial arts, strongly disliking dishonesty and underhanded practices like cheating. Her approach to battle is one rooted in sportsmanship and anything that would be in direct violation of that is sure to earn her ire.
When it comes to words, Mizuna doesn't waste time on formalities and etiquette; she takes a straight line to the heart of the matter, unafraid of speaking what's on her mind or expressing her feelings as they are.
History: Born on the planet of water, Earth, Mizuna is the child of a human woman who enjoyed much of the classical arts with a small dabbling in the martial arts scene, drawn mostly to it because of the similarity of some styles resembling dancing more than a way to brutally render an opponent immobile.
The Saiyan blood in her veins comes from her father: a wandering Saiyan warrior who had kept a low profile and found a life on Earth as a martial arts instructor. Between both of the parents, they had quietly decided that at birth, Mizuna's tail would be clipped off and that they would stay quiet about her Saiyan heritage until the time was right.
As a result, although she took quickly to Kendo and the like, she could never quite explain the occasional bursts of power that came with emotional distress, but she knew from the sparring matches she had with some of the other children within her father's dojo that something was out of place. She never thought to question either of her parents, though; school went smoothly enough for her and her proficiency with Kendo brought her the praise of her parents.
Being praised by her father made her happy and it encouraged her to try even harder, even if there were questions burning inside of her that she couldn't quite get the answers for. Although, on her 9th Birthday, when she arrived home, her father was clad in a peculiar suit of armor that she had recalled seeing a couple of times and that's when she was informed of the other side of her heritage and that the whole family would be taking to the stars to revisit her father's place of birth: Planet Vegeta.
At first, she thought it might be because her father wanted to share his past with them, but as she would find out from her father later on who despite usually being a cheerful man outside of combat training, confronted with a somewhat somber manner in his speech, filling her in on the reason behind the explosive episodes of anger she'd have from time to time and why she remembered almost nothing from those bouts of rage.
This was a training trip to get that power under wraps. A training trip that ended up taking a toll on her mother who passed away on her 12th Birthday after a cancer that space travel had made worse was revealed. It stung for a couple of years and it was a pain that never really went away for either her or her father, who dived even further into training her.
In that time, she'd gathered a few friends and bothered the usual hive of scum and villainy. Pirates and slave traders. Having only her father for an opponent all the time was actually pretty boring and the idea that she was doing some good out there in the galaxy sat well with her, even if it meant catching some disapproval from her full blooded Saiyan peers for her reasoning behind challenging people stronger than herself.
That pattern of taking odd jobs and being a general pain in the ass for the pirate and slave trades has continued through to the current day and she is presently gearing up for a big raid on one of the pirate bases - something to really put the hurt on them!
Sample RP: What had started as an innocent enough play time for Mizuna and her girlfriends had turned into a steady down spiral into suddenly being alright with the idea of killing someone. Her fingers wrapped tightly around the hilt of her blade as she swung with all her might across the larger man's chest, splitting him open from the pectoral muscle on the right down to his left hip.
She must have severed an artery with the anger-guided slash, because the moment she let her blade's tip touch the cemented floor, she was met with a large volume of blood sprayed into her face. It didn't matter to her, though; she was practically already boiling with rage.
Mizuna in her fury had made a promise to herself. Not a single one of them would escape justice. But it was a bit odd to her that no matter how many of the scum she cut down, that tingling sensation in her chest - the pain - it wouldn't go away, it just made her feel empty and miserable.
Lifting up her blade, she put it back into its sheathe, the sound of metal scraping against the case calmed her somewhat, but it didn't help ease the seething anger that boiled beneath the surface, or the grief. After all, killing them didn't change the harsh reality that her actions were the catalyst for their deaths. That was the thing that stung the most; this wasn't on the bad guys hands - it was on her hands.
Referred By: Nobody this time. Would actually like to pick up where I left off, though.
