Personality:
The first thing most people notice about Sarasim is that she is surprisingly personable for a demon, she is rarely rude to anyone and seems very willing to make friends. This is primarily because Sarasim hates being ignored and will always do what she can to be the center of attention, and the more people she can become acquainted with the better. She even hides her heritage, concealing her demonic features with basic illusion magic in order to avoid scaring off biased or superstitious individuals.
Deep down though, Sarasim sees her acquaintances as a means to an end. Her goal is to be a ruler and she will use anyone she needs to on her path to getting there. She is a patient woman though, since demons are nearly ageless she is quite willing to play the long game. She has a point to prove to her homeland after all and she will take as much time as she has to in order to do it.
History:
It was a momentous day for the Brilgan family, a demon family of some small note in the recesses of the demon realm. The mother of the house was about to give birth yet again, and this time it was what they had all been waiting for. Eleven children had already been born and she was pregnant with twins, meaning that this would mark the birth of child number thirteen. This was an important number for many demons, but the Brilgan family held it in especially high regard. This would be the child that would lead them to glory and help them expand their power. Unfortunately for Sarasim she was born first, making her child number twelve. It would be her sister that was given all the attention, leaving her to be pushed to the side as everyone else focused on the great number thirteen.
This would be how Sarasim grew up, always ignored in place of her twin, as if she herself didn’t exist. Her parents had been waiting a long time for this, and all her siblings had been raised on this belief, having been told their whole lives that number thirteen would be the one to rise them up. Sarasim did not share their feelings, all she felt was resentment towards her sister. They had been born at practically the same time, why was she so much more important? Yet her anger, along with everything else about her went unnoticed in her house. She was left to fend for herself, spending the majority of her time in the family library. If no one was going to teach her then she was going to teach herself. She poured over whatever she could find, reading how to perform the family magic and practicing on her own. It was difficult without a proper instructor, and she’d caused her share of small fires throughout the house. But even this didn’t get her much notice. She was just flippantly told to cut it out, and the staff would easily just clean the mess up. No matter what she did she could never draw anyone's attention away from her sister, the prized jewel of the house. So Sarasim decided to hell with all of them, she was just going to make it on her own.
She wasn’t so foolish as to just leave right away though. She stayed for over a hundred years, reading everything she could and arming herself with as much knowledge of the outside world as there was in the family library. Other realms, other planets, they types of beings that inhabited them, there was quite a lot of knowledge in all those books. Once she had read practically every book in there it was time to make her escape. It wouldn’t be a complete cinch, even if she was practically invisible. Her parent’s land was still guarded and it was highly unlikely they would just let her leave if she was spotted. Especially since she was carrying a rather large sack with stolen items from the house. She’d been able to nick them without being seen but it probably wouldn’t be too long they noticed stuff was missing. Heck this might finally get her noticed, but it was far too late for that to fix anything. She needed a source of money once she was out after all, and selling some of these heirlooms should keep her going until she could find her own source of income.
The escape went off without any trouble, Sarasim had studied the guard patterns for weeks before making her move, and knew when the change was. So she slipped out of her hated family home, ready to set out and build her own name. She would make herself an empire to rival and even surpass her parents, maybe one day even be one of the largest among demonkind.
Sample RP:
The moment was finally at hand, her long awaited escape was about to begin. It was late at night, and Sarasim had made her way to the mansion grounds. She actually had to look around to see if there was anyone for once, even if it was like she didn’t exist in this house this was the first and last time she wanted to be sure no one here noticed her. Once the coast was clear she dashed across the yard, the bag of heirlooms tied across her shoulders jingling slightly with the sudden motion. There was no avoiding the noise unfortunately but the grounds were quite large so it probably wouldn’t alert anyone unless they were close enough to see her anyway.
Just as she had planned most of the guards were in the office for the shift change, giving her the perfect window to make it to the gates completely unnoticed. Climbing and leaping her way up she would make it to the top of the wall, pausing only for a moment to take a look back at her home. She wondered how long it would even take those bastards in there to realize she was gone. Well whatever, she didn’t care about them anyway. She leaped down on the other side of the wall and made a break for it. Sarasim was now off into the unknown, without a single glance back.
