Personality:
Siri is best described as a bit of a gentle giant taking the view that any life, even if unnatural like herself was deserving of a fair chance to live. Siri is regretably mute, she could talk but mostly she had it beaten out of her early on in her life and never really started talking again after being freed. Her hobbies were rather limited. Mostly consisting of reading, writing and drawing. She did have something of a fighting lifestyle, and while it was routine for her, she disliked it mostly finding little motivation other than survival.
She is also a strange mix of shy and terrified of other people. She mostly gets along with her father’s race at least in terms of being able to communicate with them in her own way and able to stand up straight and be herself. Around nearly everyone else she’d be more likely to run and hide, a difficult feat for someone around thirteen feet tall. But she tries anyway. It takes a patient and gentle kind of person to get her to open up enough to stick around them for any length of time. Around people who are rather brash and loud and demanding tend to find that she’s a quiet and obedient thing, meekly following orders without complaint or protest, at least until she gets a chance to flee.
History:
It’s always difficult being different and for Siri, born of two races this was just a fact of life. Born in Universe 5 (Until something is known about it in canon and it has to change >.>) in which the Changelings are used in much the same way they used the Saiyans in Universe 7. The race capable of dominating as such were the Asari a giant Cyclopean race who focused entirely on physical reinforcement with their energy, becoming seemingly impervious and showing such feats of strength as to crack planets in half with their bare hands, they ruled a large chunk of the galaxy with relative ease. Once in a blue moon there would be the rare occurrence of interbreeding between these two races resulting in some rather diminutive little Asari’s with the strange trait of being able to alter the colours of their bodies at will. It was deemed a strange side effect from the Changeling genetics to alter their bio armour colouration.
However being born as such a hybrid meant growing up practically a slave, smaller and weaker than your betters and reminded of it constantly by the physical race. A life of physical abuse and being used as a disposable soldier resulted in her at least being capable of surviving even if she was miserable. She gained little reprieve or much of a diversion from the suffering until she was mortally wounded and much to her shock, was actually saved by her changeling father. She’d never met the man until this point and were she not so injured when he pulled her to the safety of his hideaway she’d have tried to kill him there and then for making her life the walking misery it had always been.
As she recovered however, she got to find out more about the plight of the changelings, how they were desperately trying to find the means to attain something special some golden form that would allow them to surpass the Asari and take their rightful place within the galaxy. He showed her the love and attention she’d never gotten before and she came to trust him over time. He even showed her why Asari changeling hybrids were in such demand. It wasn’t just their colours that changed, though that was an obvious trick they could do. The hybrids were capable with a lot of dedicated training alter how their body worked. If any of them ever survived long enough. The hybrid life expectancy being rather short due to the constant combat they endured.
Despite the father’s care and love, it seemed a little too much damage had been done to Siri’s mental state, she was too afraid of her Asari overlords to even considering helping her father in rebelling against them or of becoming a strong warrior to help push the Changelings into evolving into their true forms and even this mythical golden form they spoke so highly of. It was disheartening but at least he was understanding that now that she had a form of freedom, she wanted nothing more to do with the fighting. Especially since any hybrids that turned on the Asari were executed on the spot. She did however volunteer to help test the stray pieces of technology that the little resistance group were developing. It was while she was testing a rather experimental teleporter that it all went a little wrong. During the a test run of a very unstable time machine in a vain attempt to go back to the origin of the Asari and stop them then and there. Siri was unfortunately caught up in a rather huge explosion as the machine malfunctioned and was assumed dead.
Despite the problems with it, she had actually been moved in time, unfortunately she’d also been sent through dimensions. Ending up in the past, well present now in the current universe. Stranded in a Universe without her normal kind and a very different kind of Changeling. Hopefully the girl would have the means to survive in a very different kind of world.
Sample RP:
A sudden tremor caused the group to stagger and fall over, well all save for Siri who wobbled in place a little. She was thankfully weighed down by the machine she was carrying for her father. He’d been so insistent that this was going to be their salvation. His hope and joy was somewhat infectious and the Asari hybrid was smiling vaguely for a change as she helped gingerly place the large unit in place. Apparently she had been carrying the power unit to the new device that the other Changelings were building in order to finally free themselves from the Asari. Had she fallen over like the others it would possibly have exploded. The news had Siri trembling in place and slowly backing away until she felt her father’s hand against her leg.
“It’s okay Siri, you’ve done fine. Nothing’s going to go wrong, we’ve been working too hard for anything to go wrong now. Sure you want to be the one we send?”
She nodded softly and gave him a reassuring thumbs up. She didn’t want to be useless to the cause after all and she wasn’t much of a fighter despite her surviving the fights she’d been in and she wasn’t very smart. So the best thing she could do is to make use of the fact she was a fair bit bigger and tougher than the average Changelings of the resistance and being the one to deal with the inevitable explosions from the unstable machinery.
She stepped forwards with care into the place she was told to stand in, having to hunch up a little to be within the arch overhead that had some kind of emitter upon it. With a nervous glance towards her Dad and a raised brow he gave her a gentle pat. It was a little nicety to ease the worry as she looked around at the scurrying Changelings and the helpers that had joined the resistance group. This project was the big hope, if they could get the machine to work. They’d admittedly probably cease existing, but their success would result in the damn Asari from existing any more and terrorising their galaxy.
She carefully strapped the strange little recall device onto her arm, all she had to do was find out when she was when the machine was done sending her. Confirm the date, and then press the button to return. In order to communicate with the people she encountered, she had been given a selection of flash cards to show to them. Just some simple phrases to `talk` to whatever she encountered and get the information she needed before returning.
She slowly looked around as the little emitters started winding up. Making a weird little humming sound that caused Siri a little distressed. It didn’t really sound all that bad, but she didn’t know really what kind of noises it should be making. What was the sound of time travel after all? Electricity began visibly arcing from little balls across the overhead arches which started to spin around her, her vision getting rather obliterated by the spinning lights making her feel rather dizzy. She stayed upright however as best as she could. There was some kind of field building up that had started across the floor and was slowly growing, trying to reach the tip of the arch.
She heard the alarm go off and slowly turned her head, feeling like she was moving through treacle to see the nearest wall explode in as a full armoured Asari crashed through it. They’d been found! At the worst possible time. She tried to move, to get to her father and run, only for the machine to get hit by a fair bit of the debris of the wall, the power supply starting to shake violently as she watched the group surge over the single Asari and try to bring him down with weight of numbers. She didn’t get to see if it succeeded or not as she was thrown off her feet as the power supply finally exploded.
As she came to she felt something rather unusual. There wasn’t the hard rock that she had been expecting. Instead it was something soft and slightly ticklish. She opened her eye with care and gave a faint gasp at what she saw. It was, green and brown, it was the ground of a planet she’d never seen before. H-Had the machine actually worked despite the explosion? She carefully looked herself over and smiled slightly that she seemed to be intact. Now she just had to hope that this place was inhabited and the people spoke the same language. Easy, right. By the time she hit the recall button she’d likely find herself somewhere different back home. It wasn’t the first time that they had had to move the base in a hurry. Something else felt wrong however, she felt strangely drained. Like she’d not eaten in years. Weak as an ananlid, though she couldn’t blame them for being so cute despite their weakness.
