Personality: There's a good phrase that describes Salt according to his former commanding officer in the galactic patrol, "By any means necessary". He's driven near solely by his need to bring those who've avoided coming to face justice out of their hidey holes, and avenge his fallen comrades while he's at it. For the truly vile, Salt isn't above being judge, jury, and executioner all in one. While not necessarily good, he does have something of a personal honor code, and can be trusted to follow it to the letter until some one gives him reason to do otherwise. He's not too proud to gloat and always tells it like it is. He doesn't bare most folks he comes up against any ill will until they earn it, this is business after all.
History:
A Brenchian born and raised on the planet Tritek. Salt never met his mother, his father only explaining that she was very important to the universe whenever he asked why she wasn't around. This left him growing up under the watchful eye of his father, a Galactic ranger. The rangers were a branch of the Galactic patrol that sought to bring law to the chaotic and wild frontier regions of the milky way, empowered to take whatever measures they saw fit to enforce that law without any backup provided those measures didn't break the three taboo laws set by the kais themselves. Making Salt's father the officially accepted lawman on the wild mudball of Tritekia. From the moment he could comprehend his fathers instruction, the old man taught Salt all sorts of things. How to track, how to subdue, how to tell right from wrong, how to shoot, how to fight, how to survive, and above all; How to tell right from wrong. All the things a galactic ranger would need.
It wasn't his old man's aim to merely prepare his son for the harsh life on Triktekia, but to prepare him to follow in his foot steps as a Galactic ranger. When he came of age he took and passed the galactic patrols exam, bidding his father goodbye to go into the inner worlds of the galaxy and serve as a galactic patrolman.
For a number of years Salt worked his beat, serving the galaxy as best he could. Keeping in touch with his father via electronic messaging. When one day he realized his father hadn't responded in months, Salt took leave time to go to Tritekia and see what was going on, finding the planet was a grave yard. All of it's inhabitants, and their lone galactic ranger, had been killed. Recognizing the handy work of the planet trade organization, Salt spent days burying the dead he'd known personally before sending word to his former commanding officer. He was resigning from being a beat cop and promoting himself to the Rangers, whether he liked it or not.
Taking up his fathers equipment, Salt left Tritekia behind, forming the right crew with the right skills to bring the scum of the universe to light.
