A generally stoic person on the surface, Ethan is akin to a brick wall. He's calm and collected most of the time and doesn't let much get under his skin. To some people, he appears as a cold and callous person. His habit of speaking bluntly doesn't help with this image either. Whenever the teen does get angry, he doesn't unleash it like a Saiyan would. It's more along the lines of calculated and brutal efficiency. He doesn't trust people as easily as he did anymore and would hold someone at arm's length unless they can prove to be trustworthy. Even then, Ethan would hesitate in calling them a friend. Despite this image he built up for himself during his time as a cyborg, Ethan does care about others. Whenever he's around the people he does call friends or family, the teen is an easy-going person with a love of messing around. Another thing to note is that he's very loyal to a squad of mercenaries called PHOBOS as they pulled him out of the hell he was living in for the past few years. If you expect him to betray them or turn against them in any way, you're out of luck.
History:
Information regarding Subject 12's origins were classified and unavailable to the majority of Tyrell's low level employees. The only ones who know the truth about him are the board of directors and the people who actively participated in the selection. However, hackers who breached their security anyway managed to get away with a file partaining to a program called Project A251. A covert cybernetics project launched in order to merge the line between human and machine, creating a new breed of soldier. During this project, 11 subjects died as their bodies couldn't handle the strain of having so many cybernetics replacing their bodies. Despite this, the board of directors gave the woman in charge, Dr. Susan Booth another chance. Using her algorothims, the project leader used a custom designed algorothim to search for suitable candidates.
One such candidate was a 12 year old boy. He came from an ordinary background although his father served in the Earth Defense Force and his mother ran a dojo where he trained. Went to public middle school where he was the second smartest person in his class and was close friends with a girl called Evelyn Summers. He would go to the local dojo in his county before heading straight back home. An unmarked vehicle housing several Tyrell Security Service agents were dispatched to follow the kid and take him off the streets. They did as quickly as possible without making much noise. The boy never did return home. His disappearance was reported, but no one could find any trace of him. It was like he vanished off the face of the planet. The candidate was then taken to a Tyrell Robotics facility where they began the process of cyberization.
His memories were suppressed before the doctors did their work. He was put into a medically induced coma. While in this state, the boy's brain and spinal cord was seperated from the body and connected to a fully prosthetic body. He actually survived this process unlike the other subjects. After everything was completed, he went through the calibration process and physical therapy to get used to it. The boy was then lead to believe that he was an orphan from the slums who managed to survive a brutal terrorist attack. The company had retrieved his fatally injured body and brought him back to their facility for medical attention. He was then brought to Sergeant Allison Baker who lead the Tyrell Security Service's Alpha Team. She then trained her new charge over the next few years. By the time he was 16, Subject 12 was ready for his debut.
It wasn't long before Subject 12, or Elias as he was called, would betray Tyrell Robotics. After joining Alpha Team, they began an investigation on a hacker organization called the Eclipse Assembly. This group would launch coordinated attacks against Tyrell personell and kill a scientist here and there. During this investigation, Elias began to slowly recover his memories. He was then contacted by a man who's only known as P4R4D0X. The mysterious individual claimed that he had information regarding Elias' origins and that he was being lied to by the company. Despite his handler's pleas, the teen went to find out what's going on. He met the man at a private location where the latter would explain the truth. P4R4D0X gave him the Project A251 file before departing. Elias returned but refused to say what exactly happened. He then read the files in his room.
This fueled the teen's determination to leave Tyrell's service. Elias, or Ethan now, decided to leave in a pretty bombastic fashion. This involved setting explosives as a distraction and shooting his way out in case the private military forces didn't take the bait. He ended up killing a couple squads worth of soldiers before getting away from the facility he recided in. A mercenary company called PHOBOS was hired by the Eclipse Assembly to extract Ethan. After a shootout occured between Tyrell forces and PHOBOS occured, they were able to retrieve the former operative. A couple of months had passed since the attack. Ethan was recovering from his ordeal with the company and was given the option to join them. When he didn't take their offer, the cyborg was given a card and told to call the number on it whenever he felt like signing on. The boy has been undercover and trying to live his own life since.

Sample RP:
Being on his own felt...strange to say the least. For most of his life the boy was surrounded by people. Out of all the soldiers, businessmen, and scientists in the company he used to be a part of, the only ones he really knew were the doctors affiliated with A251. Susan was effectively a mother to him and he was closest to her. The Sergeant was more of an aunt as well despite her rather gruff soldier-oriented personality. That's why it hurt the most when he found out that they were lying to his face all this time. Ethan leaned back in his chair as he watched the computer screen in front of him; his fingers laced behind the back of his head. He was keeping an on the social networks hackers used to get around without being detected, hoping to find a trace of the one who showed him the truth.
P4R4D0X was a tricky fellow. The man disappeared after giving the teen the file that set him on his current path. He was never contacted again and it was conceivable that the individual simply went off the grid. Or he got caught by the authoities. No. That isn't the case. If it was, then the capture would have been blasted on the 24 hour news cycle. The media would people to know that one of the most dangerous hackers on the planet was arrested. So the man had to be alive. But where was he? Ethan stretched his arms and stood up from the chair. The force of the motion pushed it back. He went over to the fridge in his apartment room and cracked open a cold soda. Despite the fact that he didn't actually need to eat or drink, the teen's body was made with the ability to do so in mind. Besides. It wasn't like he was going to give up caffeinated soda.
Thunder crackled across the sky and the sound of rain thundered against the glass. It was dark outside despite being 2 in the bleedin' afternoon according to his clock. Ethan sighed and went back to his workstation. On it, there was his system, an unloaded handgun with the chamber pulled back and a couple of magazines by it. A couple of bullets were standing upright. A photo of him with his biological mother and father sat on the left hand side of the station too. His dad was wearing the EDF uniform while his mom wore a white kimono with a black belt. A 10 year old Ethan sat in the middle wearing his school's soccer team uniform and carrying a ball. They were in the park on a hot summer day. It was one of the few memories that came back to him.
Ethan didn't want to put his family in danger by coming into contact with them. Tyrell would certainly try to use them against him in order to get what they considered their property back. Better to let them think he was killed. In fact, you could say that the teen was killed and reborn as a new person in a sense. During his musing, he heard a ping from the computer. Leaning forward and setting the open can onto the table, he saw a black window tab open up. A line of green text started forming.
P4R4D0X: "So. I've heard you've been looking for me."
The teen grinned and typed out a reply.
3N16M4: "Yes."
It was as if he could feel the man's own smile on the other side of the screen.
P4R4D0X: "Well then. Let's begin."
