Personality:
As the Goddess of Dragons, Kaia was solitary, silent and powerful. The deity was not sadistic, but she was aware and found beauty in the cold harsh realities that nature provided. When the other gods attempted to get her to intervene in her the wake of her dragons massacre, she was unmoved due to her belief that they were part of the natural order. However, she was also exceedingly intelligent and would proactively play the 'politics' game of the gods in order to keep events proceeding as such that they would not harm her creatures. These dragons, obviously extinct now, were incredibly intelligent and capable of sentient thought. They were the very essence of nature, capable of saving a life and slaughtering a population in the same breath. If she were to ever get some semblance of those memories back, she would doubtlessly seek them out.
After falling to Earth, Kaia's personality has all but been destroyed over thousands of years of powerful magic eating away at her mind. The woman is essentially human now, and appears to be naive and unsure of things. Even things about herself. If pushed, there is a spark of power within her that she cannot control. However, anger is a rare thing for Kaia who often tries to be measured and poised, as if there is something watching her demanding that she do so.
Of course, there are remnants lurking in her mind that give her an inkling for things she enjoys -- the human notion of mythological dragons and dinosaurs, she finds fascinating but just puts it down to them being incredible stories. Fire for some reason attracts her, while she has discovered that she has an unusual ability to heal wounds. These factors all make Kaia simultaneously unsure of herself but still let her grow, as she has learned that she is happiest in life when she just follows it along its various twists and turns.
History:
Kaia existed thousands of years ago during a time of creation and conflict between the deities. They bickered and debated over creation and destruction as they tried to establish balance. Kaia was then known as the Goddess of Dragons, and took no side as the fierce creatures that she watched over annihilated and devoured worlds that were being created to such a degree that the God of Destruction so long ago saw nothing for him to do. The other gods attempted to get Kaia to intervene, but she insisted it was nature's course and to allow the worlds to defend themselves.
The deities convened with the God of Destruction at the time, with the latter seeing the dragons as the problem and the reason the universe couldn't sustain balance. Within an hour, he has systematically obliterated all of the dragons and rendered Kaia's position as a Goddess irrelevant. She, however, felt the loss of her dragons and became enraged. Despite a severe lack of battle power she set out to find whoever had destroyed her charge and hold them accountable. However, she never made it. Almost immediately after setting out an individual rampaging with unheard of energy came across her path. This mysterious stranger struck her down with pure and brutal force, shattering every fiber of her being and encasing her in a magical prison which was thrown hurtling throughout the galaxy.
Throughout space without consciousness the magic began to unravel her mind, he powers gradually regressing as years passed the magic simultaneously keeping her alive while draining her spiritual energy until eventually she broke through the threshold of a planet and was sent hurtling down to the surface as a meteor. When the magic finally dissipated, she awoke in a grassy field with tattered silk clothing, a human with no memory and no powers to speak of. The only thing she remembered was her name.
Kaia.
Sample RP:
It felt like... forever. Just, endless nothing. Darkness. Silence. Not a single thought. Barely any awareness, giving way to the gradual rush of atmosphere and the roar of sound as the darkness slowly gave way to the power of light. And then the impact, sudden and fierce and absolute. That feeling was sicking and yet, there was nothing to compare it to. It just was. Kaia should have died instantly, but whatever power that wasn't dispelled due to the magic entrapping her managed to keep her alive, albeit as a mortal.
In that same instant, whatever magic was imprisoning her had clearly attached itself to her godly power. The instant it faded, so did it, leaving her a crumbled mess of flesh at the bottom of a huge crater surrounded by debris and particles floating so dense they blocked out the sun. Darkness fell back over her for a moment as her body caught up with the sensation of being awake before the smoke began to clear and her eyes shot open. Slowly, the sun sneaked its way through so that she could make out a blurry pile of dirt in front of her. Staggering her way to her feet, she took her first breath and her lungs filled with the Earth's oxygen, her dirty hair waving gently in the wind as her vision cleared and she looked up at the edge of the crater.
There was still nothing in her mind. Only basic functions remained, the ability for basic speech and her name.
"Kaia," she said rather absentmindedly as she stepped on top of that pile of dirt and rock, standing at the peak as the dust cleared and she could see the remnants of what looked to be once a rather elegant silk gown. "Where... what... am I?"
