Órkou is a hot tempered woman in combat, letting the heat of her emotions power through the battlefield in a glory of fire and destruction. But behind that appearance of wanton destruction is a compassionate woman who holds her oaths above all else, including her own life. Unafraid to get her hands dirty, Órkou will take action into her own hands when she feels it will uphold any oath she has made. However the recent developments of her life have left her empty and hollow, with no one to swear an oath to or any knowledge on how to return to her own home and time. With no true direction in her life currently she finds the current peacefulness of Konats both a welcome and a thorn in her side.
History:
Years ago in an age and realm forgotten by mortals, Órkou was once the general of her home world’s demon army. Cruel and vicious she held no quarter in combat with her enemies, leaving a desolate wasteland of immolating flames in her wake. Centuries passed as she led conquest after conquest in the name of her liege, her power growing with each battlefield and outpost she razed and left scorched. It wasn’t until after nearly two millennia that she came to question her own self and values. The ongoing war that had been waging off and on during the past millennia came to an abrupt and unsettling end. An outsider unknown to the world had shown up, making demands of them to submit. For three days they fought, the two warring factions of the world managing to drive the invader and his army out of their world in a combined final push. However the cost of victory had come with a high price, as more had died in those three days than the amount that had died in the past year. Even the leaders of both sides had cast their own lives aside to save their own people and realms, leaving a somber and haunting feeling in both sides. Unwilling to continue fighting with each other, those remaining alive left their weapons behind as they sought to tend to their own. It would be several decades before either kingdom fully recovered from the outcome of that war and the world knew a time of peace and renewal.
Yet such times were not known for long for some, the leader’s of the world gathering to decide where to lead their nations now with a new threat in the world. Amongst the ones that had gone from her people, Órkou gave her thoughts and recollection of the event amongst several others who had been there. In the end it was decided that new methods of combat for the defense against this new enemy was the best course for the whole world, creating a new super nation upon the world. While some nations chose to remain independent, most chose to opt into the new nation. Under the new regimes the world set to preparing for the upcoming battles and it wasn’t long until the next assault came from the Kósmou, as they came to be known as. At first the battles tended to favor the enemy, their magic allowing them to appear as and when they liked with little to no warning. Yet as the battles began to happen more frequently, new means of detection and prevention came to be and in time a group from Mágissa came forth with a bold idea. They claimed to have learned the methods of how the Kósmou were able to come to their world, or at least found a similar means to replicate it. For nearly a month the nobles baulked at the notion despite applauding its possibilities. Sending troops and scouts into an unknown world with no guaranteed means of return or ensuring they could survive the trip would be costly in both resources and morale. However it was near the end of that month when a pair of figures stepped forward proclaiming their intentions to go ahead with the plan regardless of the nations permission. One was a young prodigal Mágissian who had helped come up with the theory and plan to do what they intended. The other was none other than Órkou herself, stating that the complacent life they now had came at the costs of all those who had died under her command thus far and rightly owed it to them to follow through with the idea. After some deliberation over the next few days it was decided that a team lead by Órkou and the Mágissa, Maria, would be sent through one of their own portals to bring the fight to the Kósmou world. It was to be the first of many successful campaigns against the Kósmou as they used confusion and panic they caused to attack. For nearly a year the attacks went on before the enemy capital was found and an assault was led on the palace. However it was to be Órkou’s last battle for her people and home, the seasoned veteran being overpowered by the might of the Kósmou king before Maria could deliver the finishing blow.
It is unsure to Órkou how long she sat in that darkness of death closing in, that feeling of everything slowing down and stopping as you become nothing etching itself into her memories for eternity. Only to find herself standing on a barren road in an unknown world, her body in the exact same position and condition it had been when that king’s magic had struck her. Coupled with her sustained injuries and fatigue, the weight of confusion and effects of what she just experienced was too much for her to handle, collapsing on the road in front of stranger riding a wooden-like wagon.
Sample RP:
“It was like seeing a ghost suddenly appear in front of me. I was just minding my own business as i was heading back to the house from the fields suddenly there was a gust of sound and fire lights. For a moment i was fearful that something was exploding or that beast Hirudegarn was coming back,” the frightened looking being regaled, his pointed ears drooping as he pulled down on his wide brimmed hat. The two officials standing before nodded as one took down some notes on a device in his hand while the other tried to comfort the distraught farmer. Much like the unconscious demon being seen to by a medic the people of this world wore tunic like outfits, though it was clear that their materials were fairly different.
For a few moments the two guardsmen that had been called for by the farmer continue to exchange words while the medic worked. Everything seemed to be fine with the woman, at least she assumed it was a female given her physical appearance. There was a heartbeat and breath and her body seemed to react much like their own did to certain stimuli. It was bizarre to the medic who had never seen such a being before. “Captain, i think we should take her in for a more in depth examination. I’ve never heard of such a being as this one and i feel we could better treat her injuries back in the city. Plus it will be easier to keep an eye on her there.”
A hand raised to the man’s chin as he pondered the situation, an unknown arrival via unknown means. Certainly some medical attention was needed certainly and there would be more personnel that could be called upon if needed. “Alright. We’ll transport the woman to Rukesh’s place. He’ll have means to detain her as well as tend to her needs. I’ll make the appropriate preparations.”
Watching the guardsman step outside, the medic returned to sleeping woman. While nothing life threatening, the numerous amount of injuries were of concern to her. As was the strange sensation she was sensing from the woman as she examined her with her magic. There was a ragged and torn feeling coming from the body, as if some deep wound had occured that could not be seen.
