Personality: Serori is frankly, selfish, and just a bit petty. She wants things her way, all the time. That’s not to say that she can’t get along with people, she can be quite friendly and even charming in general. Even able to admit to her faults, few that they are. Being quite young for a Shin, she’s often a little impatient, arrogant when riled up and slightly too obsessed with things going her way. This can lead to her getting rather angry, or getting really distracted or just stopping in what she’s doing and storming off in a rather immature way and at random. She shows no mercy and outright contempt for those weaker than her, but shows respect and a friendly attitude to those stronger than her in any way. Be it force of will, sheer brute strength or even out thinking her at a game or situation. These are the kind of people she chooses to befriend, believing that be being around those better than her will only give her the drive to improve herself to beat them.
History:
Born, or rather grown from a golden fruit Serori was among those of her kind destined to become a supreme kai. Almost as soon as she was able, they began teaching her. About the history of their kind, about the good work they did, how they watched over the mortal races and made sure that they were going to become decent and civilised races. To her it just all sounded so boring, but she stuck with it. There was going to be some pay off or another. Some fun when she was in charge of an entire galaxy to help it grow and develop as she saw fit. It was rather quickly explained to her when she expressed the idea of sculpting the Galaxy that that wasn’t what she was supposed to do.
She relented at the time and accepted what she was being told because of the combat training, well sort of combat training. She was being taught to use her ki and energy and the principals of combat, being left to devise the actual specifics herself, the apparent aim was to make her capable of sharing new styles with the four normal kai’s so that they could pass them onto warriors of worth. That seemed cool enough to her and she dedicated herself into trying to develop something she found cool or interesting. Only for it to not really develop as yet. She had some moves, but nothing to really shout about or act particularly impressive
In order to creative and develop into an actual style, as well as cheekily meet with to mortals, she ventured down to visit the mortals on a few occasions, meeting fine warriors and peaceful natives alike. She never truly hung around on any one planet for long, easily getting bored of the mortals she’d met on them and never making enough of a connection. Becoming rather detached and slightly down in the dumps. Nothing was really fulfilling for her and everything was just, dull in general. She grew bored, easily distracted and yearning for something to do.
It wasn’t until she visited Earth for the first time that things became interesting for her. She met someone that made her feel alive again. A strange quirky human, a martial artist of mediocre power who seemed to just get her. He knew how to have fun, to train only for the joy of discovering what he could do instead of because he had to, or because someone made him. Always on the move to see more of the world to discover more of it’s wonder. He never spoke much, but he didn’t need to. She rather fell for the guy and started spending more time on Earth with him than with her own kind in the other world. He gave her the drive to continue working on herself again.
He wasn’t a good man by any stretch of the imagination, he made his living as a roving bandit of sorts. Preying on those weaker than him, in fact it was how the pair met when he tried to mug her and she left him in a daze on the floor. She was originally against his way of life and had started spending time with him to see if she could change his way, but ended up seeing his way more. That there were strong, there were weak. If you were strong the World was yours for the taking, his lack of needs for words and still getting what he wanted only seemed proof of that and he only showed respect to those stronger than himself. It was a strange code of honour he displayed and one which Serori half adopted, mostly ignoring those weaker than herself, though she expanded the idea of showing respect to those stronger than her to being in more fields than just brute strength.
His death shattered her world some twenty years ago and she, already having lost her standing with her own people. Ventured to the other world to try and drag him back to the world of the living and defy the natural order of things. The resultant offence to the other shinjin and King Yemma saw her sentenced to the demon realm as would be appropriate for corrupt shin like herself. Though she wasn’t inherently evil in that sense, she just possessed too much self interest to be considered good enough to replace the current supreme kai as had once been planned and with her willing to go to such extreme lengths to get what she wanted, was deemed too dangerous to be left to do as she pleased.
This turned out to be a small blessing in disguise for the girl, finding a place where her old flame’s motto was bang on accurate, she excelled in the environment that seemed to match her, and quickly gained power. Impressing Dabura enough for a tentative audience between the pair as if allowed to continue, her power might have rivalled or even exceeded his own. A deal was struck between the two. He’d provide her with the means to exit the demon realms should she wish it. Telling her that the planet she’d been on with her former man had the means to resurrect him if she were lucky. The cost, was going to be her sacrificing most of her power to power the means of exit. Though that was mostly a lie, he was just going to be stealing it.
Reluctant at first, but soon after her mind became made up. It’d started to become boring here and she wanted freedom. Such freedom would allow her the chance at getting back at her fellow Shin for what they did to her. She’d almost forgotten the man she’d lost until Dabura brought it up, had she thought more on it. She’d possibly have wondered how he knew about such a thing, either way she ended up taking him up on his deal. Soon after leaving her followers in Dabura’s hands and a large chunk of her power in some form or another that she’d have to return and collect from him when she’d become capable of doing so again. Little steps, who cared about any of that. She had a chance to live a little and have fun, her existence in the mortal realm was practically rubbing it in the face of the other Shin who had banished her in the first place, which was a plus. Sure she was a weakling. But she had become strong before. She could do it again, what was time to a Shin after all.
